Why The New Life Project? In Isaiah 43, God says to Isaiah, ‘See I am doing something new! Do you not see it?’ We see God at work in our community and our buildings are valuable assets in the sharing of God’s love to those around us as we live out the Gospel story.
We started our project at Easter in 2024 with the overall aim of raising £150,000 to update the heating in both the church and hall and replace the church hall’s roof? There are several ways you can help: The Easter Gift Day Giving Response Form (it’s not too late to join!), or you can donate via JustGiving and you can also raise funds when you shop online with Easyfundraising. Should excess funds be raised they will be used for the fabric of St John’s church and hall.
With grateful thanks, we’ve raised over £53,000 to-date (11th August 2025), which has enabled us to complete the first phase by installing a new energy efficient heat pump and air conditioning system in the church hall. We’re now embarking on Phase 2, to raise another £50,000 to replace the boiler and update the heating system in the chuurch.
We are delighted to announce that the Church Hall heating is being upgraded over the coming days and the hall may be closed on various days to enable the works to be completed safely.
This is the first element of our New Life Project – with grateful thanks to all of our supporters.
