St. John’s church and church hall are located in the lower part of the village and are sign posted. When heading in a southerly direction from Midsomer Norton along Chilcompton Road, turn right down Coach Lane just after you enter the village.
There is a church car park adjacent to the church.
In addition to our services, the church is open daily from 9am-4pm for you to visit.
St. Vigor’s church is now moving towards closure and held its last service on Sunday 16th April 2023. Our former 9:00am Sunday service is now held at St. John’s in Chilcompton. Please visit our services page for further details of all services.
The church is located just of the A367 Fosseway. When heading in a northerly direction from Shepton Mallet, turn first right after The Kings Arms Public House down Church Lane.
The churchyard remains open at all times for visitors, but there is only limited parking in the road outside the church. Also, please note that St. Vigor’s does not have any toilet facilities.

Planning to visit St. John’s Church, Chilcompton? Please note that the building will be closed to visitors on Thursday 2nd November to enable further work to the refurbishment of the chancel floor to be carried out safely. Thursday’s Holy Communion will be held the Church Hall. The church will be open again to visitors from Friday 3rd November.
